New Jersey Rangers U-18 Girls Liberty


Liberty Win Division in Gold Level at Baltimore March Madness 2010  
The NJ Rangers FC U17G Liberty won their division of the Gold level Baltimore March Madness Tournament. In their first round games the Liberty defeated the Northern Elite Lightning of Maryland, 1 to 0 and Foothills SC Fusion 3 to 1. In the semi-finals the girls defeated the Baltimore Bays United (MD) 4 to 0. Ultimately, the Liberty faced the Foothills SC Fusion again in the finals where a goal was scored with 6 minutes left in the game to secure a 1-0 win over the team from western Pennsylvania. Natalie Migoya led the scoring for the Rangers with 6 goals, however, a variety of players scored including Krystina Hay, Megan Williamson, Clare Nordstrom, Erica Evans, and Abby Teuscher. The midfield was controlled well by Kristen Toropiw, Betsy Boehler, Cat Cousins, and Corey Mania. Solid defense and goalkeeping by Christie Calandrillo, Rebecca Fitzpatrick, Clara Mesevage, Deanna Doheny, and Breanna Blair helped the team finish the tournament with 3 shutouts and only one goal against.
